The TB Hunter Charitable Trust, established by Tom Hunter, the entrepreneur behind Sports Division, is donating Pounds 5 million to expand Strathclyde University's entrepreneurship division.

The Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship will house a research team in technology entrepreneurship and offer support for student-led projects.

Peter Mann, vice-president of Strathclyde's students' association and a budding internet entrepreneur, said: "Entrepreneurship is at the core of university life. Increasingly, we can take that culture, mix it with risk, knowledge and vision and create jobs and wealth in Scotland."
