Journalist and commentator Tim Luckhurst "is off to pick new arguments elsewhere" as professor of journalism and the news industry at Kent University, according to the website allmediascotland.com.
Its gossip column, "Spike", suggests that Kent may not be as strapped for cash as most of its fellow institutions: "It's understood the money on offer was good, as it would have to be, given [Mr Luckhurst's] sizeable income from columns in the Sco ttish Daily Mail, The Independent, The Independent on Sunday, Sunday Times Scotland, The Times, the Toronto Globe and Mail and others."
