九月 28, 2007

The US Government has given £15 million to universities hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The maximum award for any institution was £3 million, and 22 higher education institutions were funded. Many will use the money to renovate buildings, offset lost income because of drops in enrolment and to fund grants or staff.

The institutions awarded the money include Lamar University, Dillard University, Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, Southern University at New Orleans, Tulane University, University of New Orleans, Xavier University, University of Southern Mississippi and William Carey University.
