The European Commission's Joint Research Centre has published a call for tenders for the preparation of the Industrial R&D (research and development) Investment Scoreboards for 2005 and 2006.
The purpose of the study is:
- to produce two annual editions (for 2005 and 2006 respectively) of the European Industrial R&D Investment Scoreboard of top companies investing in research, i.e. a structured database containing information on the performances of the major companies investing in R&D in the European Union and the rest of the world,
- to provide a tool for the European Commission to monitor and analyse emerging investment trends and to benchmark, inform and communicate developments in R&D investment patterns,
- to provide a tool for companies to benchmark themselves against competitors and to raise more public awareness and support for R&D investment by individual companies and policy markers.
