LLD : Tony Clark , former director of higher education, Department for Education and Employment; William Twining , research professor of law at University College, London.
DTech : Eva Magdalena Jiricna , architect and creator of the Faith Zone within the Millennium Dome.
MA : David Quayle , entrepreneur and arts patron, founder of the DIY chain B&Q.
An honorary doctorate was presented to Carol Adams , chief executive of the General Teaching Council for England and former inspector for the Inner London Education Authority followed by a period was assistant chief education officer for Wolverhampton where she became CEO in 1990.
Steve Brown was selected Institute of Maintenance and Building ManagementStudent of the Year 2000 and received the Albert Ullmer Award . Following his initial qualifications at Stoke on Trent College he is enrolled as a student at Staffordshire University.
