Brussels, 02 April 2002
A high level 'European air and space conference', supported by the European Commission, AECMA (European association of aerospace industries) and CEAS (Confederation of European aerospace societies) will take place in Brussels on 28 and 29 May 2002.
The conference will be attended by Commissioners de Palacio and Liikanen, Spanish Research Minister Anna Birulès, Research DG Director-General Achilleas Mitsos, Director-General of the European space agency (ESA), Antonio Rodotà, several MEPs, as well as representatives of several European organisations and companies. It will focus on research and technology, civil aviation and space.
Parallel workshops will cover issues such as the response of research to future developments in civil aviation, large scale facilities and tools, military research and technology, space technology and research, safety, space telecommunications and Earth observation and GMES (global monitoring of environment and security).
