THE impact of global climate change on three arid areas of Africa is the subject of amultinational study led byUniversity of Wales Bangorscientists.

The Euro-funded project involves experts in soil science, ecology, sociology, economics and marketing from universities in Spain, Norway, Botswana, Cape Town and Rome. They will look at the interplay of physical and biological characteristics on communities in the Kalahari sand veld in Botswana, the Highlands of Lesotho and Namaphaland in the Northern Cape province of South Africa.
