Healthy smells

There has been something in the air at Liverpool John Moores University over the past three months. Fifty lecturers, technicians and research students in the school of biomolecular sciences have been taking a daily dose of liquid garlic as part of a trial to examine its effects on the cardiovascular system. Halfway through the trial they were already reporting a noticeable drop in colds and flu and "a general sense of well-being". One doubts if this extended to the rest of the university.
