The British Medical Association has warned that medical education and training are being threatened by financial instability in the National Health Service. Budget cuts threatened junior doctors' study leave and academic posts in medical schools, it said. The BMA Junior Doctors'

Committee says in a letter to Patricia Hewitt, the Health Secretary, that patients will get a lower standard of care if doctors do not have access to the training that the budget funds.
