* The 2,000 Dundee University students graduating this week and next are having their ceremonies and garden parties sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Dundee believes the deal is the first such commercial sponsorship in the academic world. The bank's logo appears alongside the university's on banners and graduation T-shirts, and graduation booklets contain the message "Congratulations to the Class of '99 from The Royal Bank of Scotland in Dundee".
