A delegate at this week's Conservative Party conference made an interesting economic point about the merits of employing British graduates.
Universities UK had organised a fringe meeting where the discussion turned from the expansion of the universities to whether the country needed so many graduates.
Speaking from the floor, the delegate, who said he was an employer himself, took the opportunity to remind his audience that graduates were not only more expensive to recruit than non-graduates but also more expensive to fire.
