Government guides teens to success

十月 27, 2000

The government launched its youth guidance service designed to encourage more teenagers into further and higher education on Monday.

The Connexions Service, which was announced in the white paper, Learning to Succeed , in June last year, will receive £740 million over the next two years. This is a £177 million increase on the existing budget of the careers service that Connexions absorbs.

The service is aimed at 13 to 19-year-olds, but more attention will be focused on those who drop out of or fail to achieve qualifications in full-time education.
