The National Horseracing Museum at Newmarket has teamed up with Wray Vamplew, professor of sports history at Stirling University, to develop a gallery on the history of gambling. But Professor Vamplew's expertise has not helped him win. In the Grand National, he failed to follow the advice of Chris Proudman of Liverpool University, putting his money on Hedgehunter, who led the race until he fell at the last fence
