The Council took note of a statement by the Belgian delegation on genetically modified seeds in non-transgenic seed as concerns in particular the setting of thresholds for the maximum tolerated levels of genetic contamination of seed. In their statement, they asked the current and incoming Presidencies to put the matter on the agenda of a forthcoming Council meeting for discussion.
