Gay staff face discrimination, says AUT

三月 27, 1998

The employment rights of gay, lesbian and bisexual staff in universities and colleges are often neglected, despite the politically correct environment in which they work, the Association of University Teachers has warned. Such staff face a form of discrimination that is difficult to monitor and is therefore often ignored, according to a booklet published by the AUT today.

An awareness of gay, lesbian and bisexual issues needs to be built into every policy adopted by institutions if they are to live up to their claims of offering equal opportunities, says the booklet, Pride not Prejudice. Copies of the booklet are available free from Adrienne Aziz, assistant general secretary, AUT.
