We have the honour to invite you to the Concession Industry Day on the 9th of March 2004 organized by the Galileo Joint Undertaking in Brussels.
The Joint Undertaking is managing the development phase and prepares the operational phase of GALILEO, Europe's global satellite navigation system. This project, launched by the European Union and the European Space Agency, is the first major Public Private Partnership at pan-European level.
The first round of the tender for the concession to the future Galileo operator was launched in October 2003. The second step will be initiated soon and will lead to negotiations with the three pre-selected candidates until the final selection of the concessionaire.
During the Concession Industry Day, the three pre-selected Consortia will present themselves and companies active in sectors interested by satellite navigation will be likewise invited to draw their business into the programme. We are confident that this forum will seize the opportunity for networking and information sharing among industry and commercial players on this ambitious European project.
