'Fund nanotechnology to keep UK in vanguard'

A report this week called for more government funding to put the UK at the forefront of the nanotechnology industry.

The report, by the Advisory Group on Nanotechnology Applications, says the UK has the expertise to lead in the field but is falling behind Japan, Korea and the US through lack of strategy and investment. It calls for funding to rise to £75 million a year in five years.
