Two free conference packages are available for young European researchers to present their papers to the CyberTherapy 2003 conference in San Diego, California from 19 to 21 January 2003.

The award is organised by the VEPSY research project, funded under the Fifth Framework Programme's Information Society Technologies programme and aims to promote and recognise excellence in cyber therapy research. The primary purpose of the award is to encourage young researchers to explore this emerging research field.

The VEPSY project covers telemedicine and portable virtual environments for clinical psychology. The main goal of the project is to prove the technical and clinical viability of using portable and shared virtual reality systems in clinical psychology to treat disorders such as panic disorder, obesity, bulimia and binge eating.

The VEPSY young researcher's award is open to European researchers aged 35 or younger and with a PhD degree or at least four years of research experience after graduation.
