Brussels, 10 Feb 2003

Brussels is to host a workshop on a joint call concerning Priority 2, 'Information society technologies', and Priority 3 'nanotechnologies and nanosciences, knowledge-based multifunctional materials and new production processes and devices' on 17 February.

The workshop will focus on the joint call 'manufacturing, products and services engineering in 2010' and will bring together industrial, academic, and institutional actors active in the activity areas under discussion.

European Commission representatives will be present in the morning to discuss the rationale of the joint call, the specific nature of each programme and the intelligent manufacturing systems initiative.

Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in networking sessions during the day.

It is hoped that the workshop will help participants consolidate emerging ideas in line with the set objectives of the two priorities.
