A lecturer swapped the intimacy of the lecture theatre for an international audience as his thoughts on studying forensics were beamed across Europe and the Middle East. Ahmed Mohameden, senior lecturer at the Centre for Forensic Investigation at the University of Teesside, was due to appear on the Arabic-language satellite channel Al-Hiwar on 10 and 11 August, speaking to thousands of viewers about careers in forensic science. Speaking before his appearance, he said: "Forensic science is not necessarily widely understood among laymen in the Arab community, so I'm looking forward to this opportunity to introduce the topic. I hope the young people watching will consider forensic science as a potential career."
