* One of the United Kingdom's most respected scientists has been suspended from his post at Oxford University and has temporarily stepped down as a governor of the Wellcome Trust after complaints were filed against him.
Roy Anderson, Linacre professor of zoology and director of the Wellcome Trust Centre for the Epidemiology of Infectious Disease, will remain on full pay while allegations made by two members of his staff are investigated. According to Nature, the row revolves around the appointment of Sunetra Gupta, a scientist in Professor Anderson's centre, to a readership last year.
