First-time high-flyers

Students who are the first in their families to go to university will be helped by a new online service launched last Friday by Manchester-based entrepreneur Anthony Wilson.

The uni4me project is the joint work of the six universities in the Greater Manchester Widening Participation Partnership. The website is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England and managed by the Open University in the North West. It outlines the options available to potential students of all ages and will help to increase awareness of full and part-time opportunities and distance learning.
