Finns at cutting edge

Helsinki Business University has reached an agreement with seven leading Finnish companies to establish a chair in e-commerce. The agreement will provide up to 100 places for those wishing to major in the subject.

HBU has been at the cutting edge of e-commerce research since the early 1990s. The research initiative will initially run for five years and focus on how online trade influences and changes attitudes and operational patterns in consumers, companies and society at large.

According to Timo Saarinen, who has been chosen for the chair, the project encourages further research into e-commerce and provides an opportunity to establish teaching in the subject at top level and develop international partnerships.
