Film industry gets Pounds 1.5 million training boost

Culture secretary Chris Smith has announced a Pounds 1.5 million-a-year scheme to help boost film production training in Britain. The funding will finance training in camera and sound work, editing and production, artwork and set design. Its first priority will be training for the craft and technical grades, training for production accountants and health and safety. The scheme will be run by Skillset, the national training organisation for the broadcast, film, video and multimedia industries.
