Fifth at Oxford have jobs

A fifth of Oxford University students work part time in term time even though they have been warned not to by their colleges, a survey has shown. Almost 70 per cent work during university holidays to finance their studies. The Oxford University Students' Union, which conducted the poll, said it underlined why the union was worried about the effect of rent rises proposed by many colleges. Only 35 per cent of students have the full cost of fees paid by parents.
