Faculties bypass university PR

Universities are struggling to promote themselves to the outside world. A survey of higher education by education public relations firm Communications Management found that 78 per cent of universities' external relations departments said that they needed more cash and labour power. The survey, for the Higher Education External Relations Association, found many faculties communicated directly with the media, by-passing formal external relations departments.
