Brussels, 17 Feb 2006

The European Commission is calling for all Marie Curie Fellows to participate in the European Marie Curie Conference 2006, which will take place on 10 to 12 April in Manchester, UK.

The theme of the event is 'Putting the knowledge society into practice', and is organised as part of the training for Marie Curie Fellows. It will provide an opportunity for them to present their research to non-specialist audiences, and exchange views with policy makers, journalists, and representatives from the Commission.

Nobel Laureate Dr Tim Hunt will give a presentation entitled 'how to win a Nobel Prize', and the event will also enable Fellows to discuss current possibilities to enhance their careers within the European Research Area.
