EU seeks web law views

The European Commission has issued a green paper on child pornography and a document on illegal content on the Internet, both accessible from the What's New page at www2.echo.lu. The consultation exercise could lead to a European position on the extent to which Internet site operators, both commercial and academic, are held responsible for content which is obscene, libellous or otherwise illegal. EU telecommunications ministers meet to discuss the issues this month.
