Dying for a degree

An interesting new report from the Annals of Improbable Research, compiled by Mike Adams of Eastern Connecticut State University.

He claims that years of study have revealed that a student's grandmother is far more likely to die suddenly just before the student takes an exam than at any other time of year.

The "dead grandmother/exam syndrome", he suggests, shows family members "literally worry themselves to death over the outcome of their relatives' performance". Improbable? Surely not.
