Durham University - You take the high land ..

Southern Ireland, Wales and eastern England are sinking while Scotland is rising, according to researchers at Durham University. A "coastland map" produced by scientists at the university and published in the journal GSA Today makes detailed predictions for land uplift and subsidence by charting "post-Ice-Age tilt" and current sea-level changes. According to the Durham map, the subsidence level in the south could add between 10 and 33 per cent to projected sea-level rises owing to global warming over the next century.
