Dundee's dope test

Mike Rennie of Dundee University's School of Life Sciences has won $175,000 (£107,000) from the World Anti-Doping Agency to develop a test to detect athletes who cheat by abusing testosterone. Professor Rennie's team has found a way to distinguish natural testosterone from its pharmaceutically manufactured counterpart by using a very sensitive mass spectrometer to distinguish between natural animal steroids and chemically produced plant steroids.
