Dundee boosts income

Dundee University this week confirmed survival plans to secure an additional £6.85 million income over the next three years, to return to financial surplus, through a series of job cuts and new income streams.

Its governing body, University Court, accepted the recommendations of a sustainability review by 11 votes to five.

The university said that it would improve income chiefly through an additional 200 taught postgraduate places over the three years and would secure £4.7 million through "savings across the university over the next four years". It stated that it would avoid compulsory redundancies where possible.
