Dressed to thrill

While most heads remain firmly in books at the British Library, occasionally they may swivel towards their neighbours. And it seems there has been a fair bit of swivelling this summer.

The library's latest Readers' Bulletin reports claims that some readers are "inappropriately dressed".

"The library does not have a formal dress code for readers," the bulletin states. "But we ask you to observe a reasonable standard of dress. During the summer months, we ask you to wear shoes and tops at all times and if you wear shorts, they should be appropriate for work rather than for the beach or sports."
