Dress code is not out of kilter

At last it can be revealed - Cambridge University was forced to bow before the might of the Fraserburgh Herald newspaper. Earlier this year, the university tightened its graduation dress code, banning kilts. It later decided that graduands with a strong desire to wear national dress could seek a dispensation. Now we know why. A message on the All Media Scotland website praises the Fraserburgh Herald for achieving the U-turn through its pro-kilt campaign, which led to the issue being raised in the House of Commons by Scottish National Party MP Mike Weir.
