五月 27, 2005

Brussels, 26 May 2005

The Commission's Energy and Transport DG has published a call for tenders relating to the development of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in a large-scale lighthouse project.

The objective is a conceptual study for the development of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies towards early market maturity in Europe. The study shall prepare a concept for a large-scale development of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. This development could be carried out in the frame of a few lighthouse projects, which integrate key technologies and key actors, provide a sufficiently long, stable time frame and the required resources, and guide the development of the sector towards broad market opening.

The activities should engage the major European actors in these fields. The necessary resources should be made available from the private as well as from the public sector from European, national and regional/local institutions.
