An Italian mafia boss has discovered that crime has to pay after being refused a discount on his two sons' tuition fees. Bernardo Provenzano, Italy's most wanted criminal, inquired about getting rebates for his sons attending university in the Sicilian capital of Palermo. A letter from an associate, Pino Lipari, found by police, states: "I have obtained information through my brother and it seems that your sons are not eligible for rebates. But, with a degree, which is better than their inheritance, your sons will be able to face life from a different perspective. You'll understand that (for your sons) any commercial or entrepreneurial venture will be under the closest scrutiny."
