Cut your cloth...

三月 12, 1999

The presentation of the two arguments, should fashion students be taught to take risks or to play it safe ("Cutting it in the fashion world", THES, March 5) misses one of the basic tenets of British design education, namely you give advice to suit a student's particular needs, aspirations and potential. Therefore either argument might prevail. It was also implied that Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano were Royal College of Art graduates. In fact, they graduated from Central St Martins. Indeed McCartney was taught by the RCA's Wendy Dagworthy while she worked here.
