Alliance: Franco-British joint research programme.
Aims to promote the development of Franco-British scientific cooperation between universities and public sector research institutes in France and the UK. Applications are now invited for the 2001 programme in pure and applied sciences, technology and applied social sciences. Preference will be given to those projects showing most promise for the development of new co-operation between the two countries, training and travel opportunities for young researchers, impact and innovation of research and potential for subsequent funding. Priority will be given to new collaborations between laboratories. The programme provides a contribution towards international travel and subsistence costs only, for exchange visits which are an essential part of the collaborative project. Applications must be made concurrently by the British and French teams that wish to collaborate. Deadline: May 1. Project grants - call for applications.
Research project shouldbe relevant to one of the following topics: 1) Bacterial infection 2) Inflammation3) Gene therapy 4) Functions, pathophysiology and pharmacology of CFTR and associated proteins 5) Transplantations in CF6) Animal models 7) Adults pathologies. Therapeuticand clinical trials projectsare encouraged. Projects from foreign teams collaborating with French teams are also encouraged. Management Accountingin Europe.
The Research Foundation of CIMA invites proposals for research into management accounting issues in a European context. Possible research topics could include: Descriptions, analyses and explanations of differences in the theory and practice of management accounting found in different European countries; variation in the management accounting profession throughout Europe; assessing the processes of intra-European assimilation and diffusion of management accounting practices and innovations; the degree of articulation and integration of management accounting systems in European joint ventures, take-overs and mergers; practice and problems in pan-European benchmarking exercises. Proposals that include, or have access to, management accounting expertise, are particularly welcome. CIMA also welcomes applications from researchers outside the UK or research teams that include non-UK researchers. However, the research should have a European dimension.
