Crabby cabbies top list of aggressive drivers

Taxi drivers are the most impatient and aggressive group of motorists, researchers at the University of Teesside have found. Dave Woodhouse and Jonathan Auty surveyed 100 motorists to see how they cope with the stress of driving in busy cities. Of the groups identified - police, cabbies, lorry drivers, commuters and occasional drivers - taxi drivers were more aggressive towards other drivers and most likely to respond to stress with confrontation. Police drivers were the least aggressive and the best at assessing potential hazards.
