We wish to point out that Leicester University student Shahid Hussain ( THES , March 23) did not, as we said, quote Benjamin Franklin as having said: "There are two certainties in life - death and debt." In fact Mr Hussain said "death and taxes", which were the words used by Franklin. We would also wish to make it clear that Mr Hussain has never been on a pub crawl and does not drink alcohol.
