Brussels, 13 February 2002

CORDIS, the European Commission's Research and Development Information Service, is launching a redesigned service dedicated to national and EU-funded research and technology in France.

The new service will be launched at the second international forum on research, innovation and technologies management in Paris, France, on 14 February.

Developed jointly by CORDIS and the French Ministry of research, the service provides a comprehensive picture of French innovation-related policies, infrastructures, services and activities. It aims to support exchanges between the European Union and France in the fields of research and technology and participation in the European research area (ERA).

The service also provides information on French positions and contributions in current discussions on the Sixth Framework programme and the future of European research.

The service introduces the priorities and activities of the French Ministry of research, as well as publications and regional initiatives. It also provides news and events coverage.

In addition, the site offers information on French participation in European projects, with details of more than 3,300 projects involving French organisations. Detailed and searchable information is available on participation in current and former programmes and on exploitable results.

The service, available in French and English, will prove useful for local stakeholders and innovation actors seeking French technology information and partners.
