Smart clothing technology developed by a university enterprise consortium lets people make a mobile call by a pull of a jacket tag. The jacket is fitted with an integrated appliance or separate belt, with a mobile phone connected to a small processor inside a pocket, while loudspeakers and a microphone are near the ear. The product is developed by Clothing+, the Research Centre for Wearable Technology in Kankaanpaa, Finland, Tampere University of Technology and Nokia. The continuing concept development work is funded partly by Tekes, the National Technology Agency of Finland, as part of its "Business concepts for industries" programme.
