Conference to discuss food factories of the future

Brussels, 18 Nov 2003

A conference on safety standards and industrial production tools in food factories of the future will take place from 6 to 8 October 2004 in Laval, France.

'Food Factory 2004' will feature the latest academic and industrial research on the following four topics:
- designing and building hygienic food factories;
- improving cleaning and disinfections techniques;
- controlling microbial ecosystems;
- measuring and controlling microbial flora, information management.

The organisers have issued a call for papers to scientific and industrial experts working in these areas. The event is supported by the European Commission under the Quality of Life priority of the Fifth Framework Programme.
