Commons to investigate

二月 19, 1999

The House of Commons science and technology committee is to turn its attention to GM foods as part of its investigation into how government uses scientific advice.

It will be speaking to Dr Pusztai, whose research claims about the harmful effects of GM foods have put him at the centre of the storm.

The committee has also approached Philip James, the Rowett's director who first backed Pusztai's comments but within days suspended him pending an audit, as well as the Scottish Office and Stanley Ewen of Aberdeen University, who supports Dr Pusztai.
