The Commission has launched a consultation process to review and update the information society technologies (IST) work programme for the period 2005 to 2006.
The work programme will define the content of calls for proposals and tenders under the IST priority of the Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) in 2005 and 2006. Consultation with the industrial and academic research community is considered crucial in re-defining the work programme.
The main aims of the consultation process are to:
- review and adapt the main research challenges to be addressed: key objectives and target breakthroughs, demanding research tasks to focus on;
- provide guidance on types of activities and types of instruments required;
- align priorities with related regional, national and international activities and policies.
Ideas and suggestions can be submitted online until 20 April. All contributions will be considered along with feedback from other consultation events such as meetings and workshops.
