Commission calls for study on biological status of species subject to import restrictions

The European Commission's Environment DG has announced a call for tenders for a study on species which are subject to import restrictions.

The species in question are subject to import restrictions according to Article 4.6 of Regulation 338/97 . The study is designed to provide information of the biological status of these species, currently around 375 taxa from 900 countries of origin. This information should allow the Commission to revise the annex of the suspensions regulation based on the best available information.
