The newly reformed Council for Science and Technology held its opening meeting last week away from the Office of Science and Technology in the splendours of the Cabinet Office - the OST's old home. A lack of meeting rooms at Albany House was one reason given for the venue, as was the fact that the group's science advice would transcend all government departments.
