A London business school has launched a major fundraising drive to raise £1 million over two years to support actuarial science. The cash sought by the Cass Business School at City University London will be invested in teaching, research and the study of the discipline. The Haberman campaign, named after the deputy dean of the school, Steven Haberman, to mark his 60th birthday, will create a scholarship programme for undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as funding for doctoral and postdoctoral research. It is hoped that the creation of the scholarships, the first available for actuarial science at the school, will encourage students from emerging economies to apply.
