Vinton Cerf, co-inventor of the Internet Protocol and "father of the internet", will lecture in Cambridge tomorrow as a guest of the Internet Society of England, the Cambridge Entrepreneurship Centre and Cambridge Network.

Dr Cerf was awarded the US National Medal of Technology with Robert Kahn for the invention of the TCP/IP. He is senior vice-president of internet architecture at Worldcom and an adviser to the White House. He also holds an appointment as distinguished visiting scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he is working on the design of an interplanetary internet.
