A burglary in which a number of examination scripts were destroyed is mystifying police and university authorities in Athens.
Intruders at the Trans-University Centre for the Assessment and Validation of Foreign Studies destroyed about 150 examination papers from a total of some 1,800.
The exam took place in June. More than 3,000 medical students with a degree from universities outside the European Union sat the exams in surgery and pathology so that their degrees could be recognised in Greece.
The exams are carried out by medical schools across the country and are collated at the centre.
Each paper had been graded, but each candidate's name and grade were covered by adhesive tape.
The burglars removed the front page of more than 150 exam papers, making it impossible to identify either the candidate or their grade.
Those candidates whose papers have been tampered with or destroyed will be required to re-sit the exam.
